pulsa em nossos corpos e corações. Foi impossível ficar sem se
mexer, sem interagir. Era a força aglutinadora e essencial do
espírito africano agindo de forma espontânea e mostrando por
que sobrevivemos a tudo e continuamos a resistir.
Este poder aglutinador cultural fez com que negros da Guiné
ou Venezuela, de Moçambique ou das Guianas, da Jamaica
ou Lesoto, do Haiti ou da Nigéria, da Costa do Marfim ou de
Cabo Verde, de Angola ou do Peru, do Brasil ou de Camarões,
dos Estados Unidos ou da África do Sul enfim, dos diversos
países africanos e da Diáspora que lá estiveram reunidos,
transformassem a semana no encontro de um só povo, uma só
nação, ou como diria o poeta: “Não dá pra fugir dessa coisa de
pele, vivida por nós, sentirá por nós”.
Muitas foram às discussões, intervenções, palestras e manifestações
culturais, mas sem dúvidas o sentimento mais fluente
que podemos perceber ao final da conferência e, sobretudo,
no CIAD Cultural foi: se demos ao mundo, mesmo com todas
as diversidades, a contribuição cultural com gênios como Bib
King, Bob Manley, Cartola e Pixinguinha, se demos ao mundo,
apesar do racismo, personalidades da envergadura política
como Nelson Mandela e Martin Luther King; se conseguimos
vencer preconceitos no mundo acadêmico com pessoas do
porte de um professor Milton Santos, Pepetela, Tony Morrison;
enriquecemos os cofres e a economia do velho mundo com o
suor do trabalho escravo, é chegada a hora de cobramos deste
mundo uma reparação sim, de tratamento, de respeito e até de
recursos, pois como foi demonstrado com o descobrimento de
Lucy tudo começou e passa pela África e seus descendentes
negros ou brancos espalhados pelo planeta!
varied streams of thought, was able to demonstrate
that with the beating of the drums a greater
ancestral energy pulsated in our hearts and souls. It
was impossible to remain still, without interacting,
it was an essential and binding force of African spirit
reacting in a spontaneous manner and showing why
we survive and why we continue to resist.
This binding cultural power made it possible for
Blacks from Guinea or Venezuela, from Mozambique
or Guyana, from Jamaica or Lesotho, from Haiti or
Nigeria, from the Ivory Coast or Cape Verde, from
Angola or Peru, from Brazil or Cameroon, from the
United States or South Africa, finally, from diverse
African countries and the Diaspora which were
gathered there, to transforme the week into the
encounter of a single community, a single nation, or
as the poet would say: It is useless to run from this
skin thing, lived by us, it will be felt by us”.
Many were the discussions, interventions,
presentations, and cultural events, but without a
doubt the most readily identifiable sentiment that
could be perceived at the end of the conference, and
above all in CIAD Cultural was: if we gave the world,
even with all the diversity, the cultural contribution
of geniuses like B.B. King, Bob Marley, Cartola
and Pixinguinha, if we gave the world, in spite of
racism, personalities of far-reaching political import
such as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King,
Jr.; if we managed to overcome preconceptions in
the academic world with persons of such stature as
Professor Milton Santos, Pepetela, Tony Morrison;
we have enriched the coffers and the economy of
the Old World with our sweat under chattel slavery.
The time has come to collect our reparation from
this world, yes, of consideration, of respect and
even of resources since as it was demonstrated with
the discovery of Lucy, that it all began and passed
through Africa and her Black or White descendents
spread throughout the planet!
