O Relatório de Sustentabilidade 2008 registra, de maneira transparente, a evolução<br />
dos principais indicadores econômicos, sociais e ambientais do <strong>Grupo</strong> <strong>CCR</strong>, verificada no<br />
último exercício. Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, a publicação foi desenvolvida com base<br />
nas diretrizes e na metodologia propostas pela Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), uma rede<br />
global multistakeholder, integrada por representantes de empresas de setores distintos<br />
de atividade, instituições de pesquisa, estudiosos, ativistas e ONGs. Numa abordagem<br />
ampla, e atenta aos principais movimentos empresariais com foco em sustentabilidade, a<br />
companhia reforça seu compromisso de adotar novas e melhores práticas de governança<br />
no relacionamento com os públicos estratégicos (stakeholders).<br />

Introduction<br />
The Sustainability Report 2008 is a transparent record of the evolution of the main<br />
economic, social, and environmental indicators of the <strong>CCR</strong> Group, as seen in the last fiscal<br />
year. For the third year, the publication has been based on the guidelines and methodology<br />
proposed by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the global multistakeholder network<br />
formed by representatives of companies from distinctly different branches of activity, research<br />
institutes, scholars, activists, and NGOs. In a broad approach, which is attentive to the main<br />
business movements focused on sustainability, the company reinforces its commitment to<br />
adopt new and better governance practices in its relationship with its stakeholders.<br />
The report has an online version, which is more complete and detailed and is available<br />
for consultation at www.grupoccr.com.br/ri.<br />
