The speakers at the seminar were selected from among professionals, with considerable<br />

experience, who excel in different areas of design, in Brazil and abroad, and have made<br />

important intellectual contributions within their respective segments. It was therefore possible to<br />

foster debate and reflection in regards to design, in its relation to innovation and sustainability,<br />

both in the private and public sectors, as well as delve into aspects related to teaching, thereby<br />

constituting a comprehensive overview of the theme of the Biennial.<br />

In an unparalleled opportunity, the seminar brought together international speakers, such as<br />

Os palestrantes do seminário foram selecionados entre os profissionais que se destacam<br />

nas diversas áreas do design, no <strong>Brasil</strong> e no exterior, com significativa experiência e grande<br />

contribuição intelectual em seus segmentos. Dessa forma, foi possível incentivar o debate<br />

e a reflexão a respeito do design relacionado à inovação e à sustentabilidade, tanto no setor<br />

privado quanto na área pública, passando também pelos aspectos referentes ao ensino,<br />

compondo um amplo panorama da temática da Bienal.<br />

The participation of the moderators, Cynthia Malaguti, Geraldo Pougy, Liliane Rank, Naotake<br />

Fukushima and Marcelo Castilho was extremely important for properly guiding the discussions of<br />

the topics under discussion. The event attracted a mixed audience, composed of design professionals<br />

and students, teachers, those from the business world and also people who work in other fields. In<br />

total, there were 618 participants from 77 Brazilian cities, located in 17 states from the five regions<br />

of the country. Together with the group of speakers, these people contributed to the building of<br />

knowledge and the dissemination of the values, tools and importance of design in our society.<br />

Fukushima e Marcelo Castilho foi de extrema importância para o bom encaminhamento das<br />

discussões dos temas abordados. O evento atraiu um público diversificado, composto por<br />

profissionais e estudantes de design, professores, empresários e também pessoas que atuam<br />

em outras áreas. No total, foram 618 participantes de 77 cidades brasileiras, localizadas<br />

em 17 Estados das cinco regiões do país. Junto com o grupo de palestrantes, essas pessoas<br />

contribuíram para a construção do conhecimento e para a disseminação dos valores, das<br />

ferramentas e da importância do design em nossa sociedade.<br />
