convidado especial Nelson Ivan Petzold.
The Newest of the New
The Newest of the New is presenting 53 products from the
five regions and 13 states of our country, created by students
or recent graduates from 26 design schools. They form a
panorama of the creative capacity of Brazilian youths in the
improvement of ecosystems and peoples’ life quality.
The choice of participants began with the appraisal of
27 professionals from the country’s varied regions, who
recommended a total 153 projects. These were later selected
by a board with representatives from company associations
(ABEDESIGN) and professional associations (APD), as well
as from the Paraná Center of Design and special guest Nelson
Ivan Petzold. Thus, part of the methodology used in Curitiba’s
editions of the Biennial, in 1990 and 1992, were once again
employed, democratizing the process for choosing projects to
represent the excellent design of Brazilian universities.
