of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United
Nations (March 2001-February 2006). Judge of the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia,

World Institute (Institut du monde arabe, Paris) (1991-
1998). Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative
to the United Nations (1985-1989). Professor and
later Dean of the Faculty of Law in Rabat (Morocco)

(1997-1998). Legal Counsel to the Moroccan delegation
at numerous sessions of the United Nations General

an international convention on the protection of the
rights of all migrant workers and their families (1979-

General Assembly 37th Session Working Group
on Principles of Medical Ethics relevant to the role of
health personnel, particularly physicians, in the protection
of prisoners and detainees against “torture, and
other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
