Morfologia cardiaca e bioquímica após dieta hiperlipídica e com óleo de canola<br />

do de novos estudos para compreender o que aconteceu<br />

com o coração dos animais durante o experimento.<br />

Freeman e col 70 , em estudo sobre a variação de peso<br />

corporal e do coração, em ratos, observaram que existe redução<br />

da massa miocárdica correlacionada com a perda de<br />

peso corporal, o que não foi confirmado no nosso trabalho,<br />

pois a correlação <strong>entre</strong> peso corporal e peso cardíaco não foi<br />

estatisticamente significativa.<br />

As curvas de sobrevivência dos animais foram diferentes<br />

<strong>entre</strong> os grupos HxI e HxO. A mortalidade dos animais<br />

foi maior no grupo H (9/15 óbitos ou 60% dos casos)<br />

que nos outros grupos: um óbito apenas nos grupos I e O (1/<br />

15 ou 6,7% dos casos, sendo que no grupo O a causa mortis<br />

não foi natural e sim um acidente onde um animal escapou<br />

da gaiola e ingeriu veneno destinado a ratos parasitas). A<br />

alta mortalidade dos animais do grupo H, intensificada após<br />

os animais completarem um ano de experimentação, provavelmente<br />

é secundária ao uso de dieta hiperlipídica, com<br />

alto teor de colesterol.<br />

Em conclusão, observamos que, em ratos envelhecidos<br />

sob dieta rica em óleo de canola (ácido graxo n-3), as alterações<br />

morfológicas mesoscópicas cardíacas e metabólicas<br />

foram menos intensas que em animais idosos e, principalmente,<br />

animais de mesma idade sob dieta hiperlipídica.<br />
