ABSTRACT
The work search to analyze some aspects of philosopher Walter Benjamin's
metaphysical thought, as well as the importance of the oral narration for the subject's
formation, and the value of the allegory in his work. For that I fall back upon Rabi
Nakhman's illustration, one of the last representatives of Hassidismo. Their reports
are oral originariamente that later were transposed to the form writing. These
possess a philosophical depth, but it is his work ficcional that influenced one of the
largest narrators of the century XX, Franz Kafka. I go through it these two illustrations
for recognizing in their respective works the true such important narrator's attributes
for the thought of Benjamin. One of the main characteristics of the movement
hassidico is to have transformed the Jewish mystic (Cabala) in an ethics. It is the
individual's ethical experience in the history that becomes historical responsibility in
the thought of Benjamin, responsibility that that converges in a very private
messianismo. It is the messianic expectation that he becomes the illustration of the
Angel of the History. The texts selected as base for the research are The Storyteller,
Experience and poverty, Franz Kafka: On the tenth anniversary of his death, On the
language in general, on the human language, The task of the translator, Theses on
the philosophy of history. The methodology used in the dissertation takes place
through the analysis hermenêutica of the texts. The research concludes that the
thought of Benjamin has the characteristics of an open work, where that opening
makes possible the reader the exercise of the comment. The spiritual value that
Benjamin attributes to the comment, in the history becomes an ethical experience of
character libertarian. The tension dialectics between metaphysics and historical
materialism confuses us on the road taken by our thinker, but in the group to think the
lucidity of his work.
