MULHERES NA ANTIGUIDADE - NEA/UERJ Sibila pode perfeitamente ter sido um personagem feminino que tomou forma literária pelas mãos de homens. A pseudepigrafia, mais uma vez, nos coloca diante do obstáculo definitivo ao tratarmos de um texto e seu autor - afinal, de quem estamos falando? Do autor ou autores ―reais‖ ou do personagem retratado? Aqui também a Sibila comporta-se, por assim dizer, de modo muito semelhante ao dos demais visionários da tradição apocalíptica do judaísmo do Segundo Templo; o fato dela ser uma mulher introduz algumas curiosidades no texto, que não são suficientes para que se possa tratá-la como, digamos, o visionário de 4Ezra - mas tampouco são irrelevantes para que se deva desconsiderar que, afinal de contas, o texto dos OrSib, tal como o temos, compõe-se de oráculos sombrios anunciados em primeira pessoa - e essa pessoa, no texto, é uma mulher.
