Anaphor and discoursive deixis have been distinguished only by
means of referenciality taking into consideration that, while anaphoric
elements retake punctual entities in the context, discoursive deictics
recover diffuse information. However, such a distinction does not
contemplate the principle of subjectivity by which all the deictic
phenomena are defined. The purpose of this work is to characterize
the discoursive deictics and to propose a group of features capable of
differentiating them from the anaphorics containing deictic elements.
Under the hypothesis that discoursive deixis belongs legitimately to
the scheme of general deixis, it is analyzed its intersubjective
character, which is revealed not only in the deictic procedure of
refocusing discoursive objects, which leads the addressee's
attentiveness towards a specific item of the deictic field, but also in
the capacity to recognize, in certain cases, the speaker's coordinates in
the textual physical spaces. To complement the escope of deictic
expressions of referenciality, four anaphoric and deictic discoursive
subclasses were added. They were defined according to the following
criteria: the relationship between formal aspects and the kind of
motivation of the deictic element; the description of the lexical
(re)categorization; the kind of retake (total or partial); the direction of
the remissive movement; and the informational status.
