ABSTRACT
The present study is based on the domestic violence against women and on its challenge to face it.
In this sense, the intersection of public policies whose focus is to ensure social security to women
who are victims of violence, it should be considered on the total scope of the institutional actions.
Assuming the existence of violence against women lies mainly in the social relations of gender, an
investigation was done with the personnel that works with this field, based on their knowledge of
the subject and practice with this intersecting police with some attention to the weakness to these
intercrossing actions. To this investigation, some documental research was done with the record
data of the Woman Reference Center of the city of João Pessoa. This Center provides a reference
service for women who are victims of violence in their daily lives, and it has the record of cases
sent to the network services, giving priority to social security policies, welfare, and health and law
assistance. Therefore, this study had a special look to the personnel who works in these institutions.
It was applied a questionnaire with structured and exploratory guidelines, in which the questions
intended to measure the intersecting and interdisciplinary institutional and social actions. This study
hopes to find out if there are weaknesses and limitations in the core of this crisscrossing police , and
with the result of such investigation could contribute to the build of effective steps to provide
citizenship and special rights for women assisted by services whose purpose is to face violence
against woman.
