A <strong>linguag<strong>em</strong></strong> <strong>do</strong> <strong>futebol</strong> <strong>no</strong> <strong>Brasil</strong> e <strong>em</strong> Portugal; por Simone Nejaim Ribeiro; IDIOMA 21; p. 14-18<br />
Globo, Jornal <strong>do</strong> <strong>Brasil</strong>, Jornal <strong>do</strong>s Sports, Jornal <strong>do</strong> Commércio, O Dia, A Bola e O Mun<strong>do</strong><br />
Português), <strong>do</strong>s quais retiramos alguns vocábulos e expressões mais usa<strong>do</strong>s.<br />
Comec<strong>em</strong>os pelos termos portugueses e, <strong>em</strong> segui<strong>da</strong>, seus correspon<strong>de</strong>ntes<br />
brasileiros.<br />
1. Alega<strong>do</strong>-fora-<strong>de</strong>-jogo = Impedimento<br />
2. Chuto = Chute<br />
Obs.: Este termo veio <strong>do</strong> inglês shoot. Na a<strong>da</strong>ptação para o português <strong>do</strong> <strong>Brasil</strong>, ficou chute.<br />
Como o fon<strong>em</strong>a final /t/ não fecha sílaba, surgiu um /e/ paragógico, com pronúncia /i/. Em<br />
Portugal, surgiu o fon<strong>em</strong>a /o/.<br />
3. Disciplina = Cartões amarelo e vermelho<br />
4. Equipa = Equipe<br />
5. Esférico = Bola<br />
6. Fiscal <strong>de</strong> linha = Ban<strong>de</strong>irinha<br />
7. Golo = Gol<br />
Obs.: Assim como o vocábulo chute, gol v<strong>em</strong> <strong>do</strong> inglês goal. Na pronúncia brasileira, o<br />
fon<strong>em</strong>a /l/ se torna uma s<strong>em</strong>ivogal /w/; o plural é /gows/ e grafa-se gols. Na pronúncia<br />
portuguesa, aparece o fon<strong>em</strong>a /o/ <strong>de</strong>pois <strong>do</strong> /l/, forman<strong>do</strong> o vocábulo golo, com plural golos.<br />
Observe-se ain<strong>da</strong> que gol é um <strong>em</strong>préstimo lingüístico muito produtivo na língua<br />
portuguesa. Dele, formaram-se, com hibridismo: goleiro, golea<strong>da</strong>, golea<strong>do</strong>r, golão, golaço,<br />
gol-contra.<br />
8. Guar<strong>da</strong>-valas; guar<strong>da</strong>-metas, guar<strong>da</strong>-re<strong>de</strong>s = goleiro, 'quíper’<br />
9. Jorna<strong>da</strong> = Ro<strong>da</strong><strong>da</strong><br />
10. Meias-<strong>de</strong>-final = S<strong>em</strong>ifinais<br />
11. Melhores marca<strong>do</strong>res = Melhores golea<strong>do</strong>res, Artilheiros<br />
Obs.: O termo marca<strong>do</strong>res, <strong>no</strong> <strong>Brasil</strong>, se aplica aos joga<strong>do</strong>res encarrega<strong>do</strong>s <strong>de</strong> vigiar o<br />
adversário para tomar-lhe a bola.<br />
12. Moldura = Baliza, Gol<br />
13. Oitavos-<strong>de</strong>-final = Oitavas-<strong>de</strong>-final<br />
14. Pontapé <strong>de</strong> baliza = Tiro <strong>de</strong> meta<br />
15. Pontapé <strong>de</strong> canto, Tiro <strong>de</strong> esquina, Esquina<strong>do</strong> = Escanteio, Córner, Tiro <strong>de</strong> canto.<br />
16. Poste = Pau, Trave<br />
Obs.: O termo poste também é <strong>em</strong>prega<strong>do</strong> <strong>no</strong> <strong>Brasil</strong>, <strong>em</strong>bora secun<strong>da</strong>riamente.<br />
17. Quartos-<strong>de</strong>-final = Quartas-<strong>de</strong>-final<br />

Estes são alguns <strong>do</strong>s termos e expressões usa<strong>do</strong>s <strong>no</strong>s jornais especializa<strong>do</strong>s <strong>em</strong><br />
esporte e na seção <strong>de</strong> esporte <strong>do</strong>s gran<strong>de</strong>s jornais <strong>do</strong>s <strong>do</strong>is países. V<strong>em</strong>os, com essa<br />
