delivery process model” (JIAO e TSENG, 1996, p. 153). A afirmação anterior destaca<br />
a principal contribuição de Product Design para a CM. Recentemente, Jiao (2004),<br />
Du et al., (2005), Jiao et al. (2007), Helo et al. (2010), entre outros desenvolveram<br />
muitas pesquisas em Product Design que permitem as empresas a adaptarem seus<br />
produtos às necessidades dos clientes. Uma relação extremamente importante com<br />
Product Design é a modularização (Modularity), pois é a partir desse último que se<br />
pode obter bons resultados para a rápida reconfiguração de produtos para atender<br />
as necessidades específicas dos clientes. Devido ao seu grande destaque para o<br />
desenvolvimento da CM, a modularidade será analisada em um tópico separado.<br />
Pode-se considerar que as pesquisas em Product Design encontram-se em um<br />
estágio avançado, portanto, os desenvolvimentos para a área se dão como soluções<br />
específicas para problemas encontrados utilizando como base o conhecimento já<br />
