6.3 Inserting/replacing the batteries
The wine cooler is powered by standard AA batteries (1.5 Volts) inserted into
the battery box. This battery box is then inserted into the device.
You can also use rechargeable AA batteries (NiMH, 1.2V, batteries, at least
2100 mAh).
Caution! Danger of injury!
Batteries contain aggressive and caustic acids. Avoid battery fluid
coming into contact with your body. If your skin does come into contact
with battery fluid, wash the part of your body in question thoroughly
with water.
Caution!
When using the battery box, make sure that the two metal contacts
never touch electricity-conducting parts at the same time, since
this could lead to a short circuit and damage the device.
Caution!
Make sure to insert the batteries in the proper polarity. Incorrectly
inserted batteries can also lead to a short circuit in the device. Insert
the batteries with the minus pole (flat side) touching the spring.
➤ Remove the battery box from the device (if necessary or desired, see
2 4, page 3).
➤ Push the two buttons (3 1, page 4) to the center and open the lid (3 2,
page 4).
➤ If necessary, remove the old batteries from the battery box.
Protect the environment!
Do not dispose of empty batteries in general household waste.
Return empty rechargeable batteries to your retailer or take them
to a collection point.
➤ Insert eight AA batteries into the battery box. Make sure the polarity is
correct.
➤ Close the lid by placing it slightly offset onto the charge box and pushing
it until the clips snap in.
➤ Push the battery box, contact springs first, into the device until it audibly
latches in place.
