PUBLISHER’S PREFACE
VINCE SULYOK : UNGARNS HISTORIE OG KULTUR
Today we continue publishing electronically the œuvre of Vince Sulyok — the Hungarian born poet,
literary translator and librarian living in Norway. Present volume entitled ’UNGARNS HISTORIE OG
KULTUR’ (HUNGARY’S HISTORY AND CULTURE) was initially published in traditional book form in Oslo in
1994. This encyclopaedic work written in Norwegian has already proved to be an invaluable source to the
whole Scandinavian world interested in Hungarian history and culture.
We created the electronic version of this volume in cooperation with the National Séchényi Library’s
Hungarian Electronic Library (Budapest, Hungary). Kristóf Bozzay and Ferenc Tóth, fellows of the National
Széchényi Library, contributed to the technical preparation of the electronic version of this book. We wish to
express our deepest gratitude to them. This work was sponsored by the Council of Hungarian Internet
Providers (http://www.iszt.hu/).
