Operating Instructions KMR 1700 D English Pull-out the oil dip rod — The oil level must be between the "Min" and the "Max" marks. — Top up the engine oil if the oil level is below the "Min" mark. — Do not fill up beyond "Max" Danger! Danger of burns! Let the engine cool-down Release the cap screw of the oilfilling opening Fill-in engine oil Oil types: See technical data Close the oil fill opening Wait at least 5 Min Check the engine oil level Replace engine oil and oil filter Engine oil replacement Provide a collecting container for at least 4 litres of oil Screw-off the drain screw in the anticlockwise direction Danger! Risk of burning if oil is hot It is essential to fit a new gasket when screwing-in the drain screw again Tighten drain plug with a torque wrench to 25 Nm Oil filter replacement Screw-off the oil filter in the anticlockwise direction Clean the supporting and sealing surfaces Wet the gasket of the new oil filter with oil before mounting Hand-tighten new oil filter Check the hydraulic oil level Open the rear engine covering Check hydraulic oil level in the top right inspection glass Notes: The hydraulic oil level must be between the "Min" and "Max" marks. See the chapter on replenishing hydraulic oil if the hydraulic oil level is below the "Min" mark. Close the rear engine cover Top-up with hydraulic oil Release the driver’s seat and pull it out downwards Unscrew 4 screws at the inspection cover Unscrew oil filler hole cap Warning! Keep oil filler hole clean 36

Screw on oil filler hole cap Screw tight inspection cover with 4 screws Mount driver’s seat Close the rear engine cover Check hydraulic system Check all hydraulic hoses and connections to make sure that they are not leaking Check degree of contamination of the hydraulic oil filter Lock the hand brake Open rear engine cowl with the unit key Start engine Check the degree of contamination of the hydraulic oil filter Notes: If the indicator on the hydraulic oil return manometer is in the red area, the hydraulic oil filter must be cleaned or replaced Please consult the Kärcher after sales service for maintenance of the hydraulics Check and overhaul the water cooler Danger! Danger of scalding due to boiling water! Let cooler cool off at least 20 Min. Check the cooling water level Open the engine bonnet Open the cooler pressure flap Note: The cooling water should reach to the bottom edge of the filling connector Top up coolant as far as bottom edge of filler neck Note: The cooling water must not contain more than 50% anti-freeze agent! Clean the cooler vanes Check the cooler hoses and connections for any leaks Clean the fan 37

Start engine<br />

Check the degree of<br />

contamination of the hydraulic oil<br />

filter<br />

Notes:<br />

the hydraulic oil filter must be<br />
