Operation and maintenance
It is recommended the unit is turned on before cooking commences.
It is also recommended letting the unit run for 15 minutes after cooking has finished, in
order to fully remove the steam and odor from cooking from the room.

In order to operate efficiently it is important the cooker hood receives regular maintenance,
in particular the active carbon filter. The grease filters capture grease particles in the air and
so are subject to blockage, depending on the degree of use of the unit.
In order to avoid the risk of fire it is recommended you clean the filter at least every
second month by performing the following procedure:
- Remove the filters from the cooker hood and wash them in a solution of water and
neutral liquid cleaning agent and leave them to soak.
- Rinse the filters thoroughly with hot water and leave them to dry.
- The filters can also be cleaned in a dishwasher. The aluminium panels may discolour
after several washes. This is not grounds for a customer refund or an exchange of the
panels.
- The active carbon filters clean the air pumped back into the surrounding room. The filters
cannot be washed or re-used, and they need to be changed at least once every
fourth month. The saturation of the active carbon is dependant on how long the cooker
hood is used, the type of food cooked and how regularly the grease filters are cleaned.
Clean surface areas of the cooker hood regularly with a damp cloth with mentholated spirits
or a non-corrosive cleaning agent.
The light that accompanies that unit is designed for use while cooking, and is not designed
as an extended light source for the surrounding room. Extended use of the light will considerably
reduce bulb life.
