De plaats van het bijvoeglijk naamwoord
Het bijvoeglijk naamwoord kan op twee plaatsen staan:
1. Vóór het zelfstandig naamwoord:
That’s a cheap meal. Dat is een goedkope maaltijd.
She’s got long hair. Zij heeft lang haar.
That’s a very high building. Dat is een heel hoog gebouw.
Nicky is a nice girl. Nicky is een aardig meisje.
It’s a difficult exam. Het is een moeilijk examen.
This is great music. Dit is geweldige muziek.
2. Na een werkwoord en zonder zelfstandig naamwoord:
The meal is cheap . De maaltijd is goedkoop.
Her hair is long . Haar haar is lang.
The building looks high . Dat gebouw ziet er hoog uit.
Petra is nice . Petra is aardig.
This exam is difficult . Dit examen is moeilijk.
The music sounds wonderful . De muziek klinkt prachtig.

I live In The Hague, a beautiful town in the west of the Netherlands. I like The Hague, because it has a
great beach, a famous theatre and a wonderful shopping centre. My house is in a really nice neighbourhood.
The house is old, but clean. My room is small, but the ceiling is high. I have a bed, a large table and
a comfortable chair and, of course, a big wardrobe for my clothes and a bookcase for my books. One wall
is purple and one is white. I also have coloured candles and a few big plants.
