▶ Present simple - I talk, you watch, she works
Als je iets zegt over dingen die vaak of altijd gebeuren, gebruik je de present simple :
I work every weekend. Ik werk elk weekend.
Michel lives in London. Michel woont in Londen.
We often talk about our problems. We praten vaak over onze problemen.
De present simple is het hele werkwoord. Bij he, she en it zet je er een – s achter:
I always wear black clothes. Ik draag altijd zwarte kleding.
You always wear black clothes. Jij / u draagt altijd zwarte kleding.
William always wears black clothes. William draagt altijd zwarte kleding.
She always wears black clothes. Zij draagt altijd zwarte kleding.
Teresa always wears black clothes. Teresa draagt altijd zwarte kleding.
We always wear black clothes. Wij dragen altijd zwarte kleding.
You always wear black clothes. Jullie dragen altijd zwarte kleding.
They always wear black clothes. Zij dragen altijd zwarte kleding.
Theses nurses always wear black clothes. Deze verpleegkundigen dragen altijd zwarte kleding.
Bij do en go zet je bij he, she en it niet –s maar –es achter het hele werkwoord:
He always does his homework at school. She never goes to school by train.
She always does her homework at school. Abel never goes to school by train.
My brother always does his homework at school. My friend never goes to school by train.
