De architect had toen zeker niet kunnen denken dat<br />
de deuren nu uit hun hengsels zouden hangen, dat het<br />
beton rot zou zijn en dat er brieven in de liften zouden<br />
zijn om te zeggen dat je thuis moet plassen. Dat lijkt me<br />
logisch maar ik moet nooit plassen dus ik ga hier zeker<br />
geen uitspraken over doen.<br />
Morgen ga ik beneden op het gras liggen tussen deze<br />
gebouwen. Ga ik me inbeelden dat de deuren in hun<br />
hengsels hangen, dat het beton glad en sterk is en<br />
dat het logisch is dat je niet in liften plast. En dan ga<br />
ik de buurvrouw van Mustafa opzoeken zodat ze me<br />
mee laat kijken in haar geheugen naar deze droom op<br />
olifantenpoten, 65 jaar geleden.<br />

Now the doors hang from their hinges, the concrete is<br />
rotten and there are notices in the elevators telling you<br />
to pee at home. That seems logical to me, but I never<br />
have to pee so I am definitely not going to make any<br />
statements about this.<br />
Tomorrow I will lie down on the grass in front of these<br />
buildings. I am going to imagine that the doors hang in<br />
their hinges, that the concrete is smooth and strong and<br />
that it makes sense that you don’t pee in lifts. And then I<br />
will visit Mustafa’s neighbor and look inside her memory<br />
of this dream on elephant legs, 65 years ago.
