What did you think your rst shoot was going
to be like beforehand? Because a lot of guys
might think ‘I’m just going to have really hot
sex and there happens to be a camera present’
but in reality everything turns out to be a bit
more technical than expected.
‘I didn’t really have a lot of expectations. I just
thought: let’s do this and we’ll see how it goes. I
mean, you don’t really know anything about it, so
you don’t really have a clue what it’s going to be
like.’
What was it like to do your rst shoot?
‘I arrived on set, Michael [Lucas, owner of Lucas
Entertainment and a porn actor himself – ed.] was
there, he really supports you very well. My rst
shoot went really well. I was very, very nervous. I
was shaking like a banana leaf in a tropical storm,
so I really needed to acclimate. But when I was
busy actually having sex, it went really well. My
second shoot went even better; there was all this
chemistry between my two co-stars and me. That
actually was hot sex and there just happened to
be a camera there. It was actually easier than I
expected. Sounds weird, doesn’t it?’
A little. There are lots of stories of guys who
are just starting out, having a hard time,
especially with the technical aspect of it.
‘You know, while it was happening, I just compared
it to a choreography for a dance. You need
to get it just right. I also tried to picture what
I’d want it to look like if I would be watching it
myself. If you keep that in mind while you’re doing
a shoot, I think it all just starts to make sense and
becomes normal. You have to keep the people in
mind who will be watching the end result.’
What about safe sex during shoots? Is that
something you worry about?
‘At Lucas Entertainment everyone does bareback
shoots, but they have a very clear policy. All
HIV-negative actors are encouraged to use PrEP.
I think it’s a shame PrEP isn’t really available in
Belgium yet. The actors who are HIV-positive use
medication, and before a shoot you can decide
whether or not you’re okay with working with
them. Everyone is tested beforehand, and during
the shoots that documentation is available to the
actors. It’s private information, of course, so only
the actors who will be working together have access
to that information. The responsibility really
lies with everyone involved, but Michael chooses
his people thoughtfully. He only works with people
who are very disciplined. That’s really noticeable
on set, too.’
Are there things you absolutely don’t want to
do, or are you pretty much up for anything?
‘I’d say I’m up for a lot of things. I don’t know.
There are a few things I wouldn’t do; the dirty stuff
isn’t really my thing. But this studio isn’t really
into that either. Personally, I like it rough; I’m not
a very soft guy. I mean, I’m open to it, I enjoy it
actually, but for me sex really depends on the person
you’re having it with. That determines a lot, it
determines the energy between the two of you, it
determines who is top and who is bottom. It’s like
that in my personal sex life as as well, I can have
sex with a twink but I could also have sex with a
really tough guy. Those are pretty different sexual
experiences, but they can be equally great.’
Has it changed your personal sex life?
‘No, not at all. The rst time I had sex after a shoot
I was still in Berlin. At rst I was looking around
to nd the camera, but then I realized there was
none. But no, it hasn’t changed my sex life at all.
Except for the fact that I might be more into sex
than I was. I’m not sure if that is such a positive
thing. [laughs] I didn’t know I could get even more
into sex than I already was.’
Would you like to turn this into a full-time
thing, or would you prefer combining porn
shoots with a more conventional job?
‘That’s a really tough question, I’m not really sure.
If I’m completely honest, porn is something I
really love to do, that’s why I became an exclusive
model with Lucas Entertainment. So I’m pretty
sure of what will happen in that area in the next
two years. But on the other hand, I really enjoy
my job at the bar and working with parties such as
Pannekoek. It’s really varied, which I really enjoy.
‘Dad doesn’t know about
it yet, mom didn’t really
understand at rst’
And because I work such long hours, it gives me
the opportunity to take lots of time off as well. So
I’d like to combine the two as long as I can.’
Now that you’ve done a few shoots, does
everyone know about it? Including your
parents? You’re pretty active on social media,
so there’s a pretty big chance that more
people will nd out about it.
‘I try to keep my personal life and my job
separated to a certain extent. I haven’t told my dad
yet. My mom knows about it, but she didn’t really
understand at rst. When I got back from Berlin,
she asked me: “So what were you doing over there
again?”. I explained it to her again, and she was
like: “There’s always been something weird inside
of you, I guess it was going to come out sooner or
later”. But I have a really awesome stepdad, a man
of the world, who says people should do what they
want to do, as long as it makes them happy. My
mom agrees with him. But we haven’t really talked
about it that much though. My oldest brother
knows, and he was really cool about it. He’ll be
working at Antwerp Pride, so I gured it was
about time I told him, especially since he might
see me on the cover of this magazine. His reply
was: “Okay, so what? Why would it matter to me?”
That was really chill. And I like the fact that my
Facebook page is so popular. It’s important to me
that my Facebook and Twitter accounts do well. Of
course it’s expected of me as well. That really took
some adjustment, because I wasn’t familiar with
Twitter at all. I really needed a week to gure it
out. It’s not that common in Belgium, it’s really an
American thing that hasn’t really caught on here
yet. But things are going well.’
How do guys you date react to it? Or do you
prefer not to tell them at rst?
‘Because of Facebook and Twitter there aren’t that
many people who don’t know about it yet. I haven’t
gotten any negative response to it yet, not with
dates or friends or acquaintances. Except for one.
A guy I used to hook up with was kind of put off,
my friends told me he was telling people I was only
in it for the money, he was being very negative. He
did try to get in touch to talk it over, but I didn’t
feel the need to do so. He completely blew it. And
I have a pretty clear policy: if you don’t approve
of what I do, then just don’t watch it. It’s that
simple. I don’t have time to deal with negativity.
But the guys I’ve dated have been pretty positive.
I guess they think it’s interesting to be in bed with
someone who does porn. It’s not like I tell them
beforehand, but if they know about it they’re okay
with it.’
Are there a lot of other Belgian porn actors? I
really only know about Philippe Delvaux.
‘Yeah, and I’d prefer not to follow in his footsteps.
I know Joey Pele, one of the other Lucas Entertainment
actors, lives in Brussels, but I don’t think
he was born and raised here. I really don’t know of
any other Belgians who do porn.’
There’ve been some stories lately about porn
actors committing suicide or trying to take
their own life. Do you think a lot of porn
actors are dealing with that? Is it something
you’re afraid of?
‘I think it really depends on why you started doing
this in the rst place. If it’s just to make money or
to become popular, I think those aren’t very good
reasons. I started doing this because I love having
sex, and I want to make something other people
might want to watch, and if they enjoy it, I already
feel like I’ve accomplished something. I think
some people start doing porn because they’re not
doing so well, their life has taken a turn for the
worse, and they didn’t really think it through. I
think it’s good that it took me a bit longer to take
this step. And it’s important to have a good rapport
with the studio you’re working for. They know
what time it is with me, and I know what time it is
with them. That’s it.’
What would you like to accomplish in porn?
‘I hope people will enjoy my work. I’d really love to
work abroad, and maybe end up on the producing
end as well. That is kind of my ultimate goal. And
there are a few other actors I’d like to work with,
Dmitry Osten is one of my favorite models. I met
him actually; he’s a cool dude. I’ve already worked
with Zander Craze, and I’d like to work with Valentino
Medici. There’s a lot of one hit wonders, but
Valentino Medici really has a lot of staying power.
Then there’s Leo Alexander – do any of these
names sound familiar to you? Leo is seriously well
hung. He’s huge! There are a lot of models I’m
really into, in terms of physique and the way they
carry themselves.’
What would you tell other guys who are
interested in doing porn? Or would you rather
tell them not to do it at all, so there will be
more shoots for you?
‘No, don’t be ridiculous. There’s not a lot of
competition between gay porn models. Even
