All our fabrics have been chosen with consideration for their contemporary style <strong>and</strong> their role as<br />
a printing medium. <strong>Stanley</strong> & <strong>Stella</strong> only work with eco-friendly materials. Our apparel is therefore<br />
made of 100% certified pure organic cotton or blended with fabrics like Tencel ® or Modal.<br />
Organic Cotton production improves soil fertility <strong>and</strong> biodiversity, thanks to diversified crop<br />
rotation <strong>and</strong> non-use of GMOs. Only natural fertilizers <strong>and</strong> pesticides are used, so groundwater<br />
<strong>and</strong> rivers are kept free of chemicals. At the same time, water irrigation is better controlled.<br />
All of <strong>Stanley</strong> & <strong>Stella</strong>’s organic cotton is certified with the globally-recognized GOTS st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />
As a premium br<strong>and</strong>, we want to offer you the best. Which is why we choose to only use ring-spun<br />
combed cotton. Ring-spun fabric is softer <strong>and</strong> offers a plain, uniform surface which facilitates the<br />
best results from every kind of printing. In addition, the process of combing cotton includes special<br />
treatment of the cotton fibres during spinning that cleans them of all dirt, impurities <strong>and</strong> short<br />
fibres. This resulting fabric is comprised only of the longest fibres, making it stronger, longer-lasting.<br />
100% biodegradable.<br />
Tencel ®<br />
Tencel ® Lyocell, to give it its full name, is the most environmentally friendly man-made cellulosic<br />
fibre available today. It is produced exclusively from the wood pulp of Eucalyptus trees, which are<br />
sustainably grown on farms.<br />
Tencel ® is fashionable, stylish <strong>and</strong> well-known for its outst<strong>and</strong>ing physical characteristics, being<br />
silky soft with a soft-flowing, luxurious drape. It is perfectly smooth, has superb depth of colour,<br />
excellent moisture absorbency <strong>and</strong> is naturally hygienic as it inhibits the growth of bacteria.<br />
Tencel ® , the eco fibre, makes it possible to create truly environmentally-friendly products.<br />
Blending this with organically grown cotton, instead of conventionally grown cotton, gives<br />
consumers the opportunity to experience textiles made entirely of ecologically responsible fibres.<br />

Lenzing ® Modal<br />
The Softer Botanic Fibre. Modal is a man-made regenerated cellulosic fibre made from sustainably<br />
cultivated forest plantations of beech wood trees transformed into pulp <strong>and</strong> fibre through the<br />
unique Edelweiss technology, based on oxygen-based chemistry. Lenzing Modal is the only<br />
sustainable Modal in the world today. Lenzing Modal is the perfect fibre for fabrics worn next to<br />
the skin – for day <strong>and</strong> night, active <strong>and</strong> relaxation activities. Same as for the Tencel, the botanic<br />
principle means that more trees are planted that convert carbon dioxide <strong>and</strong> water into wood <strong>and</strong><br />
pure oxygen via photosynthesis. 100% biodegradable.<br />
100% Linen<br />
Skin Microclimate Fibre. Linen is a natural cellulosic fibre from the flax plant, wanted by most<br />
high-end stylists because it has exceptional coolness <strong>and</strong> freshness in hot weather <strong>and</strong> unrivalled<br />
ventilated comfort. Fabric with natural thick/thin/slub character giving a textured feel, which is<br />
considered as part of the linen fabric’s particular charm. Produced without waste, <strong>and</strong> using less<br />
energy, less water, linen does not harm nature.<br />

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle<br />
From fibre sourcing to distribution of the finished product, we scrutinise<br />
every process <strong>and</strong> every supplier for sustainability.<br />
Our fabrics are constructed from fibres which are either organically grown or derived from<br />
sustainable sources. All of which are produced using less water <strong>and</strong> without harmful chemicals.<br />
Our yarns are spun <strong>and</strong> our fabrics knitted <strong>and</strong> dyed on water <strong>and</strong> energy-efficient machines. Our<br />
wet processing / dyeing conforms with GOTS, OEKO-TEX ® <strong>and</strong> REACH st<strong>and</strong>ards, exceeding them<br />
where possible. Alternative use is found for the by-products from our manufacturing process.<br />
Our suppliers <strong>and</strong> people working for them are paid a fair price. And we help them improve their<br />

Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent, nonprofit organisation that works with companies<br />
<strong>and</strong> factories to improve labour conditions for textile <strong>and</strong> garment workers.FWF keeps track of the<br />
improvements made by the companies it works with. And through sharing expertise, social dialogue<br />
<strong>and</strong> strengthening industrial relations, FWF increases the effectiveness of the efforts made<br />
by companies.<br />
GOTS, OCS Blended, OCS 100<br />
Global Organic Textile St<strong>and</strong>ard (GOTS) is recognised as the world's leading processing st<strong>and</strong>ard<br />
for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire<br />
organic textiles supply chain, including restricting the use of chemical substances <strong>and</strong> requiring<br />
compliance with social criteria.<br />
OCS Blended applies to all goods that contain a mix of organic cotton <strong>and</strong> any other material.<br />
The OCS 100 tracks the purchase, h<strong>and</strong>ling <strong>and</strong> use of 100% certified organic cotton fibres in<br />
yarns, fabrics <strong>and</strong> finished goods through the use of transaction certificates for factories that don’t<br />
yet comply to the GOTS st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />
OEKO-TEX ® (confidence in textiles)<br />
OEKO-TEX ® St<strong>and</strong>ard 100 Class II is a globally uniform testing <strong>and</strong> certification system applying to<br />
raw materials used in textiles, intermediate <strong>and</strong> end products, at all stages of production.<br />
This certification covers multiple human-ecological attributes, including harmful substances which<br />
are prohibited or regulated by law, chemicals which are known to be harmful to health, but are not<br />
officially forbidden, <strong>and</strong> parameters which are included as a precautionary measure to safeguard<br />
health. Textile products may be certified according to OEKO-TEX ® St<strong>and</strong>ard 100 only if all<br />
components meet the required criteria without exception.<br />

The aim of REACH is to improve protection of human health <strong>and</strong> the environment through better<br />
<strong>and</strong> earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances <strong>and</strong> through strict use<br />
