1. Dr. Stefaan Van Bastelaere studeerde af als arts in<br />

Leuven in 1988, waar hij tevens specialiseerde tot<br />

1994. Hij werkt momenteel <strong>voor</strong> het Belgisch<br />

Ontwikkelingsagentschap BTC. In 1995 startte hij<br />

als geneesheer specialist in Afrika, in Rwanda, na<br />

de genocide. Na veertien jaar actief in de tropen in<br />

verschillende landen, werkt hij nu als senior gezondheidsexpert<br />

in Brussel. Van daaruit volgt hij<br />

de interventies op in Latijns-Amerika en Afrika, in<br />

de gezondheidssector.<br />
