1. Dr. Stefaan Van Bastelaere studeerde af als arts in
Leuven in 1988, waar hij tevens specialiseerde tot
1994. Hij werkt momenteel voor het Belgisch
Ontwikkelingsagentschap BTC. In 1995 startte hij
als geneesheer specialist in Afrika, in Rwanda, na
de genocide. Na veertien jaar actief in de tropen in
verschillende landen, werkt hij nu als senior gezondheidsexpert
in Brussel. Van daaruit volgt hij
de interventies op in Latijns-Amerika en Afrika, in
de gezondheidssector.
