contact with me – then. I had found my way on the other side of my small world called the
Western Cape. I had made a life for myself, but still I was not satisfied and after meeting
someone that seemed like a potential ... I once again packed my bags and headed back to
the Northern Suburbs. I followed a path of rose petals that signaled hope of new love, a
path of rose petals that led me back to my past and into
the future. Everything went magnificent, and even better
– until the unthinkable happened. My ex made contact
again.
To cut a long story very short, he had come back into my
life, as of late, and completely disrupted the little bit of
balance I had achieved. That seems like a very bold and
rude statement. However, ask yourself what is balance?
Balance is a period when there is harmony between the
mundane and spiritual in your life. Too much of the one can overthrow the other and
cause a disruption, but to have love in your life (or brought back in my case) you
sometimes need to lose that balance to achieve true balance. I know that you know
exactly what I mean. You know the feeling when your normal routine is broken for a date
here and there, or when movie night is cancelled for an evening at his place, or when you
procrastinate with your work a bit more to put a little extra effort into that something for
him.
What is true balance?
I believe that true balance is not something that can be defined or even completely
understood, it is just something you know you have when love has disrupted the balance
in your life.
Truth be told, he is back in my life and I have found true balance, even if the individual on
street corner 9 doesn’t know it. I do. I have lost that guy that I thought would be the new
beacon of love in my life but we are still friends. As for my ex and myself, well we are just
who we are meant to be. Only time will tell.
