This course is intended to develop the skills of doctoral students to design scientific publications as well as to
critically analyse and review the published academic papers. During the course doctoral students will get
acquainted with the traditional structure of scientific paper, its peculiarities and problems which young
scientists could encounter while designing their own scientific publications. Students will learn the globally
recognised requirements for the format and design of academic publications. In the practical part of this
course doctoral students will have an opportunity to analyse previously published papers, as well as to master
the technique of designing the structure of a publication, using both made-up and real individual research
topics. At the end of this course doctoral students will present the structure of their own publication and
discuss the main design principles for this peculiar publication.
