Kursa anotācija angļu valodā:<br />

The study course introduce the doctoral students to the psychological aspects of human/environment<br />

interaction, therefore facilitating their skills of self-inquiry and reflection in relation to environment. The<br />

course views ecopsychology in the temporal context of science, culture and education. The doctoral students<br />

will get the possibility to analyse the different psychological approaches to the contemporary global threats to<br />

the world, to discern the links and interaction of ecopsyhology with the most significant schools of modern<br />

psychology. The course emphasizes the possibilities to introduce the ideas of ecopsychology in different<br />

educational levels beginning from preschool to doctoral studies, as well as analyse the ecopsychology as an<br />

important tool for teacher preparation for work in environmental education. The students will acquire the<br />

concepts relevant for ecopsyhology such as biophilia, biophobia, ecological identity, motivation, values and<br />

attitudes. The participants of this course will be asked to carry out the field research to reveal the peculiarities<br />

of ecological values in their community and to elaborate the education strategies to overcome emerging<br />

problems.<br />
