10. DISSEMINATION<br />

10.1. PRESENTATION OF STUDIES<br />

During 2012, eleven studies by the <strong>Ivie</strong> were presented:<br />

⎯ On January 12 the study El sector bancario español en el contexto internacional: el impacto de la crisis,<br />

carried out by the <strong>Ivie</strong> for the Cajas de Ahorros Foundation (Funcas) and directed by the <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher<br />

and University of Valencia Professor Joaquín Maudos, was presented in Madrid.<br />

⎯ The University of Extremadura presented on February 16 the <strong>report</strong> La contribución socioeconómica de la<br />

Universidad de Extremadura. José Manuel Pastor, Professor at the University of Valencia and <strong>Ivie</strong>’s<br />

Researcher, informed the media about the study’s conclusions in an event attended by the Rector of the<br />

University, Segundo Píriz.<br />

⎯ In Zaragoza, on March 21, the study Análisis para la mejora de la productividad en Aragón undertaken by<br />

the <strong>Ivie</strong> for the Economic and Social Council of Aragon was presented. The author, Matilde Mas (<strong>Ivie</strong>,<br />

Universitat de València), outlined the main findings of the research at a conference which was attended by<br />

the President of the Council, Natividad Blasco, the President of the Regional Government of Aragon, Luisa<br />

Fernanda Rudi, and the Councilor for Economic Affairs and Employment of the Regional Government of<br />

Aragon, Francisco Bono.<br />

⎯ On April 17 at the BBVA Foundation venue in Madrid, the results of the study Universidad, universitarios y<br />

productividad en España were presented. The study was introduced by its main authors, Francisco Pérez,<br />

Professor at the University of Valencia and Research Director of the <strong>Ivie</strong>, and Lorenzo Serrano, Lecturer at<br />

the University of Valencia and <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher.<br />

⎯ The <strong>report</strong> La financiación pública de la Comunitat Valenciana y sus consecuencias económicas, carried<br />

out by the <strong>Ivie</strong> for the Valencian Entrepreneurs Association (AVE), was presented on May 2 at AVE’s<br />

headquarters in Valencia. The President of AVE, Vicente Boluda, and the director of the study, Francisco<br />

Pérez (Universitat de València e <strong>Ivie</strong>) cochaired this presentation.<br />

⎯ The study Observatorio sobre la Reforma de los Mercados Financieros Europeos 2012, conducted by the<br />

<strong>Ivie</strong> for the Fundación de Estudios Financieros, was presented on May 16 in Madrid by the <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher<br />

and the Professor of the University of Valencia Joaquín Maudos.<br />

⎯ The Bancaja Foundation and the <strong>Ivie</strong> presented June 26 the results from the 6 th survey of the Observatory<br />

of the Transition of Young People to the Labor Market in Valencia. The director of the research, José María<br />

Peiró, Professor of Social Psychology of the University of Valencia and <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher, explained the main<br />

findings of this last edition.<br />

⎯ The monograph Un modelo de crecimiento y productividad regional: El caso del País Vasco was presented<br />

June 26 at the Deusto Business School in Madrid by its authors, Matilde Mas, Professor at the University of<br />

Valencia and <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher, and Mikel Navarro, Professor at the Deusto University and researcher of the<br />

Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness. The book was also presented on July 10 in Bilbao by Mikel<br />

Navarro and José Luis Curbelo, Director-General of Orkestra.<br />

⎯ The results of Educación y desarrollo. PISA 2009 y el sistema educativo español, a research directed by<br />

Antonio Villar, Professor at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville and <strong>Ivie</strong> researcher, were released to<br />

the media on July 18 at the BBVA Foundation headquarters in Madrid. Antonio Villar and Rafael Pardo,<br />

Director of the BBVA Foundation, introduced the study and summarized the main conclusions.<br />
