Javier Quesada presented a paper at the XX FORO UNIVERSITARIO JUAN LUIS VIVES ‘LA ECONOMÍA DEL
CONOCIMIENTO’, held in Valencia on February 20. On February 22 he took part in the COLOQUIOS SOBRE
PROSPECTIVA EMPRENDEDORA JUAN JOSÉ RENAU PIQUERAS hosted by the Faculty of Economics of the
University of Valencia. He jointly directed the REUNIÓN SOBRE SECTORES PRODUCTIVOS Y ECONOMÍA
SUMERGIDA organized by the Valencian Foundation for Advanced Studies in Valencia on February 28. He gave
a conference titled ‘INSTITUCIONES ECONÓMICAS PARA UN BUEN FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA EMPRESA’ at
the 21st ÉTNOR SEMINAR ‘ÉTICA ECONÓMICA Y EMPRESARIAL’ held in Valencia on May 10. He also
participated in the round table debate ‘EL PAPEL DEL PARLAMENTO EUROPEO EN LA SALIDA DE LA CRISIS:
UNA PERSPECTIVA ALEMANA DEL DEBATE AUSTERIDAD VS. CRECIMIENTO’ arranged by the Faculty of
Economics of the University of Valencia on July 6. From 9 to 10 August he took part in the 2nd WORLD KLEMS
CONFERENCE hosted by Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts). He was a speaker at the workshop
‘ESTANCIAS DE PROFESORES UNIVERSITARIOS EN EMPRESAS VALENCIANAS’ organized by the University-
Enterprise Foundation of Valencia (ADEIT) on September 26. Furthermore, he presented a paper at the 11th
COURSE ON ‘SPECIALIZACIÓN EN TURISMO CULTURAL’ hosted by the Cañada Blanch Foundation in
Valencia on October 26.
Ernest Reig presented a paper at the EUROPEAN REGIONAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION CONGRESS held from
21 to 25 August in Bratislava (Slovakia). He was speaker at the workshop ‘IMPLANTACIÓN DE SISTEMAS DE
GESTIÓN DE PRODUCCIÓN’ hosted by the School of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of
Valencia on October 26. He also presented a paper at the 38th REUNIÓN DE ESTUDIOS REGIONALES
organized by the Spanish Association of Regional Science and which took place in Bilbao on November 22 and
23.
Juan Carlos Robledo participated on July 9 in the MIDTERM MEETING of the European project ICT R&D
MACRO DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS, organized by the European Commission’s Institute for Prospective
Technological Studies (IPTS), in Seville.
Lorenzo Serrano took part in WP6 EDUCATION WORKSHOP of the INDICSER project which was hosted by the
National Institute of Economic and Social Research in London on March 12. On June 29, he presented a paper
at the 3rd CONGRESO DE LA ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE DERECHO Y ECONOMÍA organized by the
University-Enterprise Foundation of Valencia (ADEIT). Additionally, he presented a paper at the 21st
JORNADAS DE LA ASOCIACIÓN DE ECONOMÍA DE LA EDUCACIÓN held in Oporto from 5 to 6 July. He was
also a speaker at the INDICSER END-OF-PROJECT CONFERENCE celebrated in Budapest from 27 to 28
September. On December 12, in Barcelona, he presented a paper at the workshop EL IMPACTO SOCIAL DE
LAS UNIVERSIDADES EN TIEMPOS DE CRISIS organized by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency.
Ángel Soler was a speaker at the III CONGRESO DE LA ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE DERECHO Y ECONOMÍA,
organized by University-Enterprise Foundation of Valencia (ADEIT) and held in Valencia on June 29. Also, he
presented two papers at the XXI JORNADAS DE LA ASOCIACIÓN DE ECONOMÍA DE LA EDUCACIÓN in Oporto
on 5-6 July. On October 5, he presented a paper at the III JORNADA SOBRE LA DIMENSIÓN SOCIAL DE LA
EDUCACIÓN UNIVERSITARIA EN ESPAÑA organized by the University of Valencia and held at La Nau center
of this university.
Emili Tortosa-Ausina gave the seminar THE REAL EFFECTS OF BANK BRANCH DEREGULATION AT
VARIOUS STAGES OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT at the Department of Economics of the University of Girona
on March 15. On April 11, in Santiago de Chile, he gave a speech on DESARROLLO FINANCIERO Y
CRECIMIENTO REGIONAL EN ESPAÑA: UN ENFOQUE DE REGRESIÓN CUANTIL organized by the Faculty of
Business and Economics of the University Diego Portales. He was co-organizer and presented two papers at the
4th INTERNATIONAL IFABS CONFERENCE ON RETHINKING AND FINANCE: MONEY, MARKETS AND
MODELS held in Valencia from 18 to 20 June. He also presented a paper at the 25th EUROPEAN
CONFERENCE ON OPERATIONAL RESEARCH, celebrated in Vilnius (Lithuania) from 8 to 11 July.
Furthermore, he gave a seminar titled ON THE DETERMINANTS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEBT: DOES ONE
