Iván Arribas (Universitat de València)<br />
Dr Arribas graduated in Mathematics with special honors and obtained his PhD in Economy from the<br />
Universitat de València, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He has participated in National R&D Plan<br />
projects, and his specialist fields are techniques of quantitative analysis and the temporal series, game theory,<br />
information economy and international integration. He has given courses at the Central Bank of the Dominican<br />
Republic and the Universidad de Mar del Plata (Argentina), and has taken part in diverse international scientific<br />

Juan Fernández de Guevara (Universitat de València)<br />
Dr Fernández de Guevara graduated and obtained his PhD (with special honors) in Economics from the<br />
Universitat de València, where his is currently Assistant Professor of Economic Analysis. Since 2011, he is<br />
associate researcher of the <strong>Ivie</strong>. His specialized fields are banking, productivity analysis and social capital. He<br />
has been researcher on the INDICSER Project of the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme,<br />
on the National R&D Plan Project Factores de crecimiento y competitividad: capital tecnológico, capital<br />
humano, infraestructuras y desarrollo financiero and advisor for the United Nations. He has published fifteen<br />
books and book chapters and more than twenty articles in specialized journals such as Journal of Banking and<br />
Finance, The Manchester School, The European Journal of Finance, Journal of International Money and<br />
Finance, Revista de Economía Aplicada, Regional Studies, Applied Economics Letters, among others, and has<br />
taken part in more than twenty-five national and international congresses.<br />
Belén Gill de Albornoz (Universitat Jaume I)<br />
Dr Gill de Albornoz graduated in Economics and Business Studies from the University of Zaragoza and obtained<br />
a PhD from the Universitat Jaume I. She is Associate Professor of Financial Economy and Accountancy and has<br />
taken part in projects for the National R&D Plan, the AECA and the European Commission. Her specialist areas<br />
are financial economy and public finances, the quality of accounting data and corporate government. She<br />
stayed several years at the University of Lancaster (UK), and as well as participating in various national and<br />
international congresses, she has had articles published in diverse national and international journals. In 2012<br />
she received a Prize from the Fundación de Estudios Financieros for her research work Income smoothing and<br />
idiosyncratic volatility.<br />
Manuel Illueca (Universitat Jaume I)<br />
Dr Illueca graduated in Economics and Business Studies from the Universitat de València (1993) and obtained<br />
a PhD in Business Administration and Management from the Universitat Jaume I (2001), where he is currently<br />
Associate Professor in Financial Economics and Accounting. In 2007 he was a visiting scholar in the Finance<br />
Department of the University of Indiana (USA). His research fields are financial statement analysis, the<br />
economics of banking, and financial derivatives. His articles have been published in national journals<br />
(Investigaciones Económicas, Revista de Contabilidad, Revista Española de Financiación y Contabilidad,<br />
Spanish Economic Review, among others) and international ones (Applied Economics, Energy Economics,<br />
International Small Business Journal, Journal of Futures Markets, among others). He is also editor of the<br />
Revista Española de Contabilidad and, during 2011, he was editor of the Spanish Accounting Review.<br />
José Manuel Pastor (Universitat de València)<br />
Dr Pastor is an Associate Professor at the Universitat de València, where he graduated in Economics in 1990<br />
and received his PhD with special honors in 1996. Currently, he is also vice-dean of Jobs, Internships, Business<br />
Relations and Economy at the Faculty of Economics. He specializes in banking, regional economics and<br />
economics of education. He has received scholarships from several institutions (Valencian Regional<br />
Government, Caja de Madrid Foundation, and FIES) and was a visiting researcher in the Finance department at<br />
