StarkutėSummaryIt is surveyed in the article ecological vegetable growing investigations carried out atthe Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. Investigations showed that out of all the vegetable it iseasiest and most profitable to grow leeks, root crop and fruit vegetables. To grow profitably andecologically bulb and spring onions is very difficult. Ecologically grown lettuce, leaf celery andleaf and leafstalk parsley also produce good yield.Investigations established the most suitable sowing and planting schemes to ecologicallygrown vegetable and the most suitable plants to fresh fertilizer. The biggest additions of theentire grown vegetable standard yield in the first, second and third crop rotation years afterthe ploughing of plants for the fresh fertilizer were obtained when they were grown under thesowing of barley with clover and oat and pea mixture. Liquid fertilizer Biokal 01 positivelyinfluenced the increase of carrot dry mass and leaf area. Biological preparation NeemAzal T/S0,5 % applied for ecologically grown vegetable effectively destroyed caterpillars of smallwhite and aphides.There was investigated and evaluated at the institute the yield, root crop morphologicaltraits and their biochemical composition of ecologically grown red beet and edible carrotcultivars and hybrids.Key words: Biokal 01, ecological vegetables, NeemAzal T/S 0,5 %, green fertilizer,cultivars and hybrids.204
