KarklelienėSummaryThere were summed up investigation of edible carrot (Daucus sativus Röhl.), red beet (Betavulgaris L. subsp. vulgaris convar. vulgaris var. vulgaris) and edible radish (Raphanus sativus L.)of Lithuanian cultivars and hybrids in 1997–2007. Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture had createdfour cultivars and two hybrids of carrots, six red beet and four radish cultivars. There were establishedroot-crops morphological features (length, diameter, weight), yield and biochemical compositionin carrots, red beets and radish. It was established that difference of yield and external qualityof root-crops more depend on cultivar and hybrid genetic nature and meteorological conditions.Key words: biochemical composition, carrots, cultivars, hybrids, morphological features,yield, radish, red beet.187
