RubinskienëSummaryThere was investigated berry chemical composition, firmness of tissues, colour(anthocyanins amount), respiration and sensual indicators of widespread strawberrycultivar Venta – fresh and kept for 10 days at the temperature of 0°C, 4°C and 10°C inmodified atmosphere of various composition (0% O 2/ 0% CO 2, 2% O 2/ 5% CO 2, 5%O 2/ 10% CO 2, 10% O 2/ 25% CO 2, 21% O 2/ 0,03% CO 2).There was determined that strawberries Venta are preserved best of all in modifiedatmosphere of 5% O 2/ 10% CO 2and 10% O 2/ 25% CO 2at the temperature of 0°C. Thebiggest influence on strawberries quality has not composition of modified atmosphere,but preservation temperature. Modified atmosphere only helps to preserve qualitativeberries for longer period, but it can’t compensate poor storage conditions.Key words: chemical composition, modified atmosphere, Venta, strawberry,quality.73
