Brazaitytë, P. Viðkelis, G. ÐabajevienëSummaryCultivation systems of frigo strawberries were investigated at the LithuanianInstitute of Horticulture in non-heated greenhouses in 2003-2005. Strawberry cultivarElsanta were grown in soil, bed hill mulched by film, bagful on bed hill and bagful onsupports. The object of research was to determine the best cultivation system for frigostrawberries Elsanta in greenhouse; investigate and estimate if using strawberry frigoseedlings at Lithuanian agroclimate conditions it is possible to get one late berry yieldin autumn and another in early spring in unheated greenhouse. It was determined thatyoung strawberries till autumn yield grew better in bagful on supports of 1.3 m height.The crown growth was not dependent on cultivation systems when strawberries weregrown till second yield at the end of the spring. When strawberries were grown in bagfulconditions for photosynthesis were better, because plants had more photosyntheticpigments, more higher chlorophyll a and b ratio comparing with plants grown in soil.The highest yield of berries was when frigo strawberries were grown bagful on supports.Key words: cultivation systems, frigo, greenhouses, seedlings, strawberry Elsanta.63
