ViðkelisSummaryProductivity and fruit quality of 13 new apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) cultivarswere studied at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture in 2000-2005. Trees were graftedon M.26 rootstock at a spacing of 4 x 2.5 m.Investigations showed that apple trees of cvs. Kandil Orlovskyj, Bolotovskoje andArkad Rozovyj produced the highest cumulative apple yield. The fruits of cvs. Red Kroftand Bolotovskoje had the longest period of storage (average until 04.15), the fruits ofcv. Orlinka – the shortest one (average until 04.15). The fruits of cvs. Pamiatj Semakinuand Orlovskaja zaria were the largest, the fruits of cv. Raneje letneje – the smallest ones.The fruits of cv. Red Kroft had better quality and biochemical characteristic incomparison with other apple cultivars. Kurnakovskoje and Raneje letneje had biggestoutput of juice, Bolotovskoje and Red Kroft were distinguished for f<strong>ir</strong>mness of skin,Kurnakovskoje, Bolotovskoje and Red Kroft – for f<strong>ir</strong>mness of flesh.Key words: apple, biochemical characteristic, cultivars, fruit quality, productivity.22
