RaudonisSummaryField experiments in onion Štuttgarter Riesen crop were carried out at the LithuanianInstitute of Horticulture in 2004-2005. Spread and intensity of downy mildew wasobserved in relation to weather factors in the onion field. Downy mildew was developedin onions during 2004-2005. There was recorded statistically higher percent of diseasespread and intensity in 2005 when the biggest amount of precipitation fell at the f<strong>ir</strong>stdays of July and the mean a<strong>ir</strong> temperature was low. Disease spread increased up to 89%and intensity up to 66.6%. There was recorded that infection started when meantemperature of three days was 14-16°C, relative humidity 87.5-96% and precipitationper day – 1.8 mm.Key words: disease intensity, humidity, onions, Peronospora destructor,precipitation, spread, temperature.143
