DuchovskisSummaryRegeneration ability of morphogenic structures and gynogenesis efficiency of twelveonion cultivars depending on the plant donor growing temperature was investigated atthe Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. Four different temperature regimes were used.Donor plants were grown in green house (22+5°C) and open field + phytotron complexchamber at the temperature of 14 o C. Obtained results showed, that growing plant donorsin green house and decreasing of growing temperature when the flower outer peel startsto break is optimal for edible onion gynogenesis induction. The frequency of gynogenesisdepends on the plant donor genotype.Key words: gynogenic embryos, gemmagenesis, growing temperature, induction,morphogenic response.136
