BrazaitytëSummaryThe influence of calcium ammonium nitre (KAN 27), nitrogen fertilizer withzeolyte (KAN 27 with zeolyte) and zeolyte (trade mark ZeoVit EcoAgro) andammonium nitre on red beet (Beta vulgaris L. var. Conditiva Alef.) cultivar Pablo F 1crop photosynthetic indices was investigated in calcaric epihypogleyic luvisol of sandyloam on light loam soil in the experimental field of the Lithuanian Institute ofHorticulture in 2004-2005. Seed rate was 0.5 mln. units/ha of shoot seeds. It wasestablished that ammonium nitre, nitrogen fertilizer with zeolyte and zeolyte andammonium nitre increased the amount of photosynthesis pigments only in the densered beet cultivar Pablo F 1crop. All the methods of fertilization in the sparse Pablo F 1crop increased leaf index. The beets, which were fertilized with nitrogen fertilizer withzeolyte and zeolyte and ammonium nitre, had the biggest leaf area. Nitrogen fertilizerwith zeolyte, zeolyte and ammonium nitre increased net photosynthesis productivity ofbeets in July and August.Key words: nitrogen fertilizer, leaf index, photosynthetic pigments, photosynthesisproductivity, red beet, zeolite.122
