Structural analysis of first and second year annual training cycles of<br />

GIRLS beginner volleyball players<br />

Today there is a lack of research of basic training<br />

of young volleyball players in Lithuania and articles<br />

written on this matter. The activity of high level athletes<br />

is being researched, analyzed, but there are no studies<br />

on the basic training of volleyball female players. Thus<br />

arises the relevant problem – how to train the girls -<br />

volleyball players at age 11-13 in the groups of basic<br />

training. The aim of this paper is to analyze the structure<br />

of annual cycles of the first and second year’s basic<br />

training of the female volleyball players.<br />

Trainings’ planning documents of the first and second<br />

years of the same volleyball players group (n = 20) of<br />

basic training at Vilnius games sport school „Tauras“<br />

are analyzed in the research.<br />

After analyzing the structure of annual cycles it<br />

was clear that the most of the time in the stage of basic<br />

training there was spent on technical training. The female<br />

volleyball players were taught the carriage, motion, the<br />

ways of stopping, passes with both hands from top, the<br />

underarm passes of the ball with both hands, the over<br />

straight-line passes of the ball, the attack kick. In fail<br />

of forming of the sturdy skills of fulfilment of technical<br />

actions the training of all technical actions were repeated<br />

during the second year while gradually increasing the<br />

complexity of tasks and integrating the tactics exercises.<br />

The quarter of the training time was designed for the<br />

common and special training during which the body of<br />

female athletes was strengthened comprehensively with<br />

the special focus on physical features of velocity, special<br />

endurance and agility where developed.<br />
