A Canine Respiratory Disease (CRD) RealPCR Panel isrecommended in the majority of dogs to look for otherinfectious causes of clinical signs as well as to identifycoinfections that might alter management. The CDV QuantRealPCR Test has replaced the qualitative CDV RealPCRTest in these panels at no additional cost.Note: Quantification is only available for respiratorysamples. When other clinical manifestations of disease arepresent and other sample types are submitted (e.g., CSFfor neurologic disease), the existing stand-alone CanineDistemper Virus (CDV) RealPCR Test (test code 2265) oran appropriate panel (Canine Diarrhea RealPCR Panel[test code 2625] or Canine Neurologic RealPCR Panelwith Lyme Quant C 6®[test code 3031]) should be ordered.Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) RealPCR Test (test code2265) is a qualitative test (positive or negative) that shouldonly be ordered for clinical manifestations requiring sampletypes other than respiratory swabs or if it is certain that thedog with respiratory signs has not been recently vaccinated.Ordering Informationtest codetest name and contents3265 Distemper Virus (CDV) Quant RealPCR Test—Canine2524 Respiratory Disease (CRD) RealPCR Panel —CanineBordetella bronchiseptica, canine adenovirus type 2,canine distemper virus (CDV) Quant, canine herpesvirustype 1 (CHV-1), canine influenza virus (H3N8), canineparainfluenza virus, canine respiratory coronavirus (CRCoV),H1N1 influenza virus, Mycoplasma cynos and Streptococcusequi subsp. zooepidemicus RealPCR tests3036 Respiratory Disease (CRD) RealPCR Panel withCulture if Indicated—CanineBordetella bronchiseptica, canine adenovirus type 2,canine distemper virus (CDV) Quant, canine herpesvirustype 1 (CHV-1), canine influenza virus (H3N8), canineparainfluenza virus, canine respiratory coronavirus (CRCoV),H1N1 influenza virus, Mycoplasma cynos and Streptococcusequi subsp. zooepidemicus RealPCR tests. If the RealPCR test is positive for Bordetella bronchisepticaor Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus, a cultureand susceptibilities will be automatically performed at noadditional charge.Note: Culture will only be performed if a culture swab issubmitted.Turnaround timeThe IDEXX nationwide network of reference laboratoriesprovides daily courier service or IDEXX-Direct ® serviceto pick up your samples and forward them to our IDEXXMolecular Diagnostics Laboratory in California. IDEXXRealPCR tests are run daily, Monday–Friday.
