The ECA wishes to welcome its new corporate<br />
member Sunrise Resorts & Cruises, a hospitality<br />
management company in Egypt operating<br />
with international quality and environmental<br />
standards. The success of the company started in<br />
2003 with three hotels and now Sunrise Resorts<br />
& Cruises operates seven resorts and four cruises<br />
with two more resorts and two cruises soon to start<br />
operation. In addition, since 2007, Sunrise Resorts<br />
& Cruises is the hotel management company of<br />
Festival Hotels & Resorts; and also since 2008 the hotel<br />
management company of Sentido Hotels & Resorts.<br />
By the end of 2010, the company will be operating 14<br />
hotels & resorts and nine cruises.<br />
Since its first day of operation, Sunrise Resorts &<br />
Cruises’ main target is to provide excellent service,<br />
quality control on regular basis with very high<br />
standards and environmental protection, all of<br />
which has ensured their success as one of the<br />
leading hotel operation companies in Egypt. A well<br />
balanced international guest mix is guaranteed by<br />
very good business relations, mainly with the company Thomas<br />
Cook/Neckermann as well as other international partners.<br />
Under the slogan «Welcome Home» the resorts and cruises,<br />
all of 4 and 5 star category, offer a very high quality and<br />
comfort, culinary specialties, various sports activities and a<br />
relaxing atmosphere for the guests. Due to this reason, the<br />
company is the “quality brand” of Thomas Cook in Egypt. With<br />
a cosmopolitan, hospitable and open minded attitude, the<br />
company offers personalized service and exquisite culinary<br />
cuisine with an ambience blending into the surrounding<br />
The company's philosophy is based on three main pillars:<br />
Quality Standards<br />
Sunrise Resorts & Cruises operates a quality department<br />
for all their resorts and cruises. Additional to the regular guest<br />
comments, these departments are conducting a monthly control<br />
including guest interviews, mystery-guest visits and comments<br />
of the Thomas Cook travelers. In addition, the company<br />
also conducts regular employee trainings and complaint<br />
management training to guarantee a constant high standard.<br />
Hygiene Control<br />
Sunrise Resorts & Cruises is working together with “Cristal<br />
International”, an international company based in England. This<br />
company is checking the resorts and cruises on monthly basis,<br />
which guarantees the guests constant high hygiene standards.<br />
The hygiene control includes the following areas:<br />
Temperature measurements of all foods<br />
Bacteriological tests of all foods<br />
Water test of the pools and tap water<br />
Stock keeping and supplier control<br />
Control of all F&B employees on hazardous illness as well<br />
as preventive medical check-up (legionnaires' illness and<br />
salmonella)<br />
Environmental Protection<br />
Sunrise Resorts & Cruises is working together with “Green<br />
Globe 21”, a well acknowledged environmental certifying<br />
organization worldwide, founded in 1993 through the World<br />
Travel & Tourism Council based on the Agenda 21 (UN, Rio de<br />
Janeiro, 1992). This company conducts annual re-auditing of<br />
all certified enterprises. Sunrise Select Garden Beach, the first<br />
property of Sunrise Resorts & Cruises, has been certified by<br />
“Green Globe 21” in 2004 and has been recertified until 2007.<br />
After the successful certification of Sunrise Select Royal Makadi<br />
in January 2007, the company's target is to certify all Sunrise<br />
Resorts with this international certification to be the first hotel<br />
management company in Egypt to have all its operations<br />
environmentally certified. The certificate includes for example:<br />
Measures to save energy and water<br />
Waste separation for recycling<br />
Purchase and usage of environment-friendly and<br />
dermatological tested cosmetic products<br />
Purchase and storage with packing reduced products.<br />
