The “Story Time” sculpture pictured on the cover, created by Mr. Clement Renzi,<br />
was commissioned and sponsored by the <strong>Education</strong>al Employees Credit Union.<br />
Superintendent Tom Lasek was instrumental in establishing a partnership between<br />
the <strong>Kings</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Education</strong> and the <strong>Education</strong>al Employees Credit Union<br />
to promote “Excellence in <strong>Education</strong>”. “Story Time”, located at the entrance <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>Kings</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Education</strong>, was dedicated to the memory <strong>of</strong> Tom on<br />
November 16, 2004. Mr. Lasek passed away in April 2004 while serving as the<br />
<strong>Kings</strong> <strong>County</strong> Superintendent <strong>of</strong> Schools.
