Born in Florence in
1949, Maurizio
Duranti has lived
in Milan since
1987, after he had
been living for
many years in
Genoa, where he
graduated in 1976.
He studied
architectural
planning, interior
design and
industrial design.
During his career he has been a teaching
assistant at the Architectural Department of the
University of Genoa and teacher at the
European Institute for Design. He has been
involved in the preparation of numerous
exhibitions for various firms such as COCA
COLA, VILLEROY & BOCH, ESCHENBACH,
MIRA LANZA, and POMELLATO, etc. Moreover
he has designed numerous commercial spaces,
especially in the housewares and giftware
sectors, some of which have been published
several times in Italian and international
magazines for their particularly innovative
characteristics. He has been invited to display
his work in numerous exhibits, in particularly
“Avventure progettuali” -1991 “La Casa
Mediterranea” - 1991. He has printed the
monographic “Avventure progettuali” for Agepe
in 1991 and “Disegni ~ Design” for Archivolto in
1993. He currently works with various
companies for which he has designed objects,
furniture, lamps, tableware, etc. utilizing wood,
metal, porcelain, glass, marble etc. An
“understated” designer, he does not like
excessiveness and his design tend to mediate
tradition with contemporary values and
indications.
Maurizio Duranti è nato a Firenze il 21 Agosto
1949. Vive a Milano dal 1987, dopo aver
trascorso molti anni a Genova, dove si è
laureato in architettura nel 1976.
Si occupa indifferentemente di progettazione
architettonica, interior design e industrial design.
È stato assistente alla Facoltà di Architettura di
Genova e docente all’Istituto Europeo di Design.
Ha curato numerosi allestimenti di esposizioni
per importanti aziende quali COCA COLA,
VILLEROY & BOCH, ESCHENBACH,
MIRALANZA, POMELLATO ecc. progetta inoltre
molti negozi, soprattutto nel settore casalingo e
articoli da regalo, alcuni dei quali sono stati più
volte pubblicati su riviste italiane ed estere per le
loro caratteristiche particolarmente innovative. È
stato invitato ad esporre il proprio lavoro in
numerose mostre, tra le quali si ricorda
“Avventure progettuali” – 1991 “La Casa
Mediterranea” – 1991.
Nel 1991 ha pubblicato con Agepe la
monografia “Avventure progettuali” e nel 1993
con Archivolto “Disegni & Design”.
Attualmente collabora con numerose aziende,
per le quali ha disegnato mobili. Lampade,
imbottiti, accessori da bagno, oggetti in
porcellana, vetro, marmo, ecc.
Progettista in chiave “Understatement”, non
ama gli eccessi, ma tende a mediare il peso
della tradizione con valori e segnali
contemporanei.

Giulio lacchetti
was born in
Castelleone in
1966. He studied
in the Architecture
Department of the
U n i v e r s i t a
Polytechnic of
Milan and
completed a
biennial course
organized by the
Lombardy regional
government for
specialization in Industrial Design. In 1992 he
started his career as a designer and since 1994
has been a member of ADI, the Italian
Association for Industrial Designers. His
theoretical training, together with a strong
practical and manual sense, is the basis for his
refreshing approach to varied projects and
themes. In 1992 he developed the “Ibis” series
of handles for the Italian Firm FRASCIO; he also
began collaboration with the Firm DOMUS
BRASS, resulting in the “Fortuna” line of bath
accessories. In 1993 his “FROG” herb cutter
project for the “Ritual of the Table” competition
received jury recognition. Working with
FRASCIO again in 1994, he developed the
“OPERA 1” and “OPERA 2” series of handles.
He began his collaboration with MEPRA S.p.A.
in 1995.
Giulio Iacchetti è nato a Castelleone in provincia
di Cremona nel 1966.
In tempi diversi frequenta la facoltà di
Architettura del Politecnico di Milano ed un
corso biennale di specializzazione in Industrial
Design finanziato dalla Regione Lombardia.
Nel 1992 ha intrapreso autonomamente la
professione di designer; dal 1994 è iscritto
all’ADI (Associazione Italiana per il Disegno
Industriale). La sua formazione teorica,
accompagnata da un forte senso pratico e
manuale, crea i presupposti per un libero
coinvolgimento in ogni tematica ed in ogni
progettazione.
Nel 1992 ha realizzato la serie di maniglie “IBIS”
per Frascio; nello stesso anno, inizia la
collaborazione con la DOMUS BRASS per la
creazione di una linea di accessori da bagno in
ottone, denominata “FORTUNA”.
Nel 1993 il progetto per la mezzaluna da cucina
“FROG” viene segnalato al concorso “la ritualità
in tavola”.
Nel 1994, ancora per la Frascio, disegna le
maniglie “OPERA 1” e “OPERA 2”.
Il 1995 porta ad un fattivo rapporto di
collaborazione con MEPRA.

Luca Galbusera
was born in Bari
January 11th,
1966 and lives
between Genoa
and Milan. After
scientific studies,
he graduated from
the European
Design
Institute of Milan in
1987. He
participated in the
competition to
rescue the Oberdan Square Daily Hotel in Milan
and took second place for a project at the
polyvalent musical research center. He was
recognized for the planning of holy objects
during the KOINE’ competition and for the
“neoeclectics objects” during “Abitare il tempo”
in Verona, 1993. For years he has developed
and applied an illustration technique to industrial
product design, rewarding objects with a
personal poetry that transcends both dreams
and reality. Since 1987 he has worked
expressly with the Architect M. Duranti. The
“Oggetti Gentili” collection was developed
exclusively for MEPRA and is the first production
collection of its kind.
Luca Galbusera è nato il giorno 11 gennaio 1966
a Bari e vive tra Genova e Milano.
Dopo gli studi scientifici, nel 1987 si diploma
all’Istituto Europeo di Design a Milano. Partecipa
al Concorso per il recupero dell’Albergo Diurno
di Piazza Oberdan a Milano e si classifica al
secondo posto, con il progetto per un centro di
ricerca musicale polivalente. È inoltre segnalato
al concorso KOINE’ per la progettazione di
oggetti sacri e al concorso “L’oggetto
neoeclettico” ad Abitare il Tempo, Verona nel
1993.
Ha sviluppato negli anni la tecnica
dell’illustrazione applicata al design del prodotto
industriale, conferendo agli oggetti rappresentati
una personale poetica, che si colloca tra sogno
e realtà.
Dal 1987 ha uno stretto rapporto di
collaborazione professionale con l’Architetto
Maurizio Duranti.
Gli articoli progettati per MEPRA, sono i primi
oggetti realizzati per la produzione industriale.
