Il 2023 delle fonderie italiane si è concluso
in rallentamento
Italian foundries closed
2023 with a slowdown
periodo ottobre-dicembre 2023 è in flessione
del -12,2% rispetto al trimestre corrispondente
del 2022. Lo sottolinea l’ultima indagine
congiunturale del Centro Studi di Assofond
sui dati relativi al periodo ottobre-dicembre
2023.
PRODUZIONE E FATTURATO
Fourth-quarter data confirm the
downward trend of the previous
months. The president of Assofond
Zanardi: “Implementation decrees for
the measures in favour of
energy-intensive companies are
urgently needed”
In the fourth quarter of 2023, Italian foundry
production recorded short-term growth of
+3.3% compared to the previous three months,
but for the third consecutive quarter confirmed
a drop compared to the same period in 2022,
with the final figure for the period October-December
2023 down by 12.2% compared to the
same quarter in 2022. This is highlighted by the
latest economic survey by the Assofond Study
Centre on data relating to the period October-December
2023.
PRODUCTION AND TURNOVER
In the fourth quarter, the short-term variation
in production (in tons) was 3.3% higher than
the third quarter. The figure, it must be said, is
mainly due to the higher number of days worked
compared to the previous quarter, which included
the month of August, when prolonged production
stops are traditionally concentrated for
summer holidays and scheduled plant maintenance.
More significant therefore is comparison with
the same period in 2022: in this case, the longterm
variation is negative at -12.2%.
