LA TRAVIATA - The Musical

THE MUSICAL.
A NEW EXPRESSION OF
LA TRAVIATA
MUCH MORE
THAN A SIMPLE
CAMELLIA
If it had not been for an act of love, Margherita Gautier and Violetta Valery,
respectively protagonists of the novel The Lady of the Camellias and the
opera La Traviata, respectively, would not have existed.
An act of love that marked the life of that girl, surname Plessì, born poor
and who from the lowest levels of her provincial existence goes on to live
in wealth in the highest levels of Paris society, redeeming herself from a
childhood full of difficulties and abuses, up to serious illness and premature
death.
That act of love was fatal for us.
To get to know it in depth we researched, read dozens and dozens of
pages of what had already been written about it and tried to understand
how true and how false what had already been documented was. We tried
hard to interpret what could have really happened where the source was
dubious and if the writer at the time had been in love with the protagonist,
like, for example, the author of her biography at the time. An informative and
interpretative piece of work based on the presumed true character of the
young protagonist.
It struck us like this, then illuminating writing and narrative-musical skills to
tell the incredible true story of Alphonsine Rose Plessì, aka Marie Duplessì
and then Violetta in La Traviata.
And with her her act of love.
