WRITES THE STAGE ADAPTATION
Paris, 1852
Following the success of the novel, four years later Alexandre Dumas wrote
the theatrical adaptation of La Dame aux Camélias. After difficulty overcoming
the limits of censorship, it gave its premiere at the Théâtre du Vaudeville
in Paris on 2 February 1852. The play was a huge success and ran for over
100 consecutive performances.
