Its spectacular gulf makes Marina di
Campo a natural amphitheatre overlooking
the sea, with the Tower erected
on a spur of rock to protect the town. It
was built in the 16th century and when
it no longer was for defence, it was
used as a lighthouse. Over the years,
Marina di Campo has become the most
sought-after beach on the island, not
only for its natural beauty, but most of
