<strong>Raphia</strong> è la perfetta convergenza tra<br />
modern<strong>it</strong>à e tradizione, tra tecnologia<br />
e artigianato. Un ossimoro che riunisce<br />
due degli spir<strong>it</strong>i della produzione <strong>it</strong>aliana:<br />
l'industria metallurgica e i piccoli produttori<br />
di canna da zucchero, con l'obiettivo di dare<br />
continu<strong>it</strong>à alla tradizione dell'artigianato<br />
della canna da zucchero, che risale agli<br />
inizi del secolo scorso, quando le zone<br />
specializzate in questo mestiere vedevano<br />
prosperare scuole e una cultura che ruotava<br />
intorno a questo materiale.<br />
Oggi sono poche le aziende che conservano<br />
il know-how di questo mestiere, dove la<br />
manual<strong>it</strong>à e l'artigianal<strong>it</strong>à si fondono per<br />
rendere ogni creazione unica.<br />
<strong>Raphia</strong> incarna questa storia e questa<br />
tradizione in un contesto contemporaneo,<br />
grazie a un armonioso equilibrio tra due<br />
materiali: la struttura metallica è la base su<br />
cui si intrecciano il bastone e il rattan per<br />
creare la seduta..

Designers<br />

Paolo Lucidi (1974) Luca Pevere (1977). Entrambi laureati al<br />
Pol<strong>it</strong>ecnico di Milano, si formano professionalmente con Marc<br />
Sadler e Marco Ferreri (2002 – 2006) con i quali lavorano per<br />
numerose aziende internazionali. Cominciano a firmare i primi<br />
progetti assieme dal 2003 e nel 2006 fondano il loro studio<br />
LucidiPevere.<br />
Cercano di confrontarsi sempre con nuove tipologie di prodotto,<br />
contaminandole con linguaggi estetici e tecnologie ined<strong>it</strong>e alla<br />
continua ricerca della loro giusta espressione. Collaborano con<br />
aziende, culture e Paesi differenti; alcuni marchi con cui lavorano<br />
sono Casamania, DeCastelli, Fiam, Glass Idromassaggio, Foscarini,<br />
Normann Copenhagen, Comforty, Kristalia, Colombo Design,<br />
Dimensione Disegno, Teracrea e Samsung.<br />

I loro prodotti sono stati inclusi presso musei in Europa e negli Stati<br />
Un<strong>it</strong>i e gli hanno valso importanti riconoscimenti quali DesignPreis<br />
Deutschland, Red Dot Design Award, Leuchte des Jahres – Luce<br />
dell’anno 2011, Good Design Award, la selezione Must Have al<br />
Design Festival di Lodz in Polonia e la selezione ADI Index per il<br />
XXIII Compasso d’Oro.
