What is your favourite word? Boluda. What makes<br />

you feel alive? Nam-Myoho Renge-Kyò. What is<br />

your favourite place? My hometown, El Bolsón,<br />

Patagonia Argentina. Which artist do you most<br />

admire? I <strong>lo</strong>ve Marina Abramovic. What is the<br />

last book you read? “Cien Años de Soledad” by<br />

Gabriel Garcia Marquez. What talent would you like<br />

to have? The voice to sing a folk <strong>lo</strong>ve song. What<br />

would your ideal day be like? Good friends, good<br />

weather, good tunes. What is your best childhood<br />

memory? Back in the days, on the mountain with<br />

my brother at the sky camp and Saturdays at the<br />

hippie market. What or who would you like to be in<br />

the next life? John Lennon. Which outfit would you<br />

be happy to wear for the rest of your life? A pair<br />

of heels! What is your greatest fear? Berlusconi<br />

and The Pope. What is your greatest achievement?<br />

When Givenchy called Riccardo (Tisci) to be their<br />

Creative Director after four years of us working<br />

together on his own label. What makes you cry?<br />

China Sorrilla. What makes you laugh? China So-<br />

rrilla. What makes a good friend? A good friend is<br />

one that tells you everything about your best and<br />

worst sides. Have you found true <strong>lo</strong>ve? Yes, but only<br />

in my best friends. Love is pain; I am Latino and<br />

for me <strong>lo</strong>ve is drama and jea<strong>lo</strong>usy. I’d rather have<br />

<strong>lo</strong>ts of <strong>lo</strong>vers than a boyfriend, because it means<br />

less suffering. I don't know if I'll ever find true<br />

<strong>lo</strong>ve in a man... Don't think so. What does freedom<br />

mean to you? Freedom is a state of mind. It's<br />

something that one should earn. When was the last<br />

time you helped a stranger? Today. What can’t you<br />

live without? Potatos. What is the most beautiful<br />

thing you have ever seen? The big reef in Australia<br />

and my grandparents hometown, Beirut. What is<br />

your favourite scent? Patchouli. Do you believe in<br />

a deity? Not really, I believe in myself and I think,<br />

as a practicing Buddhist, that everything which<br />

surrounds us is the reflection of what we are inside.<br />

We are all Buddha! Can you think of a fiction<br />

character from a film or a book that you identify<br />

with? Ch<strong>lo</strong>ë Sevigny in Brown Bunny! What is the<br />

greatest thing you have learned? That everything<br />

you want is right there but you have to work hard<br />

to get it. Who would you like to be kissed by? The<br />

French guy covered in tattoos that I saw at the<br />

beach in Sicily last summer. What is your greatest<br />

obsession? My friend Devendra Banhart, his music<br />

and the day that he told me that we will never<br />

be apart. What do you do to make this planet a<br />

better place? Many simple actions like smiling at<br />

an unknown person. What beliefs and ideals guide<br />

you through life? Simple straightforward values inspired<br />

by Buddhist culture: respect, humility and<br />

equality. How would you like to be remembered?<br />

I would you like to be remembered as a guy who<br />

brought people together. A man that didn't have the<br />

possibility to study but managed to change the way<br />

people communicate and relate to each other and<br />

the world around them.
