the combined interests of italy and austria Italiener lieben Natur, Kultur und Gastfreundschaft Italienische Gäste zieht es in ihrer Freizeit jetzt wieder verstärkt nach Österreich. Neben ihrer Vorliebe für Kultur- und Städtereisen genießen unsere südlichen Nachbarn zunehmend auch erholsame Naturerlebnisse in den Bergen und die Gastfreundlichkeit der Österreicher. Italien war mit über 1 Million Ankünften und rund 2,8 Millionen Nächtigungen im Jahr 2014 der viertwichtigste ausländische Herkunftsmarkt für Österreich. Und auch die bislang vorliegenden Ergebnisse für 2015 (Jänner bis Mai) lassen mit einem Plus von 4% die heimischen Tourismusverantwortlichen optimistisch in die Zukunft blicken. „Laut Wirtschaftszeitung ‚Il sole 24 Ore‘ befindet sich Österreich heuer wieder unter den Top 10 der touristischen Lieblingsdestinationen der Italiener, nämlich an 6. Stelle“, freut sich Michael Strasser, der bei der Österreich-Werbung (ÖW) den italienischen Markt betreut. Er hofft, dass sich neben dem derzeit leicht spürbaren Wirtschaftsaufschwung in unserem Nachbarland auch der erfolgreiche Österreich-Auftritt im Rahmen der EXPO 2015 in Mailand touristisch nachhaltig auswirken wird. Was für viele italienischen Gäste während ihres Aufenthaltes in Österreich zum Pflichtprogramm gehört, erklärt Strasser so: „Sie bilden sich gerne im Rahmen von Stadt- Ciao Austria – I turisti italiani amano natura, cultura e ospitalità. I turisti italiani sono di nuovo fortemente attratti dall‘Austria per le loro vacanze. Oltre a prediligere i viaggi culturali e nelle grandi città, i nostri vicini meridionali apprezzano sempre più anche i momenti di relax nella natura in montagna e l’ospitalità degli austriaci. Con più di 1 milione di arrivi e circa 2,8 milioni di pernottamenti, nel 2014 l’Italia è stata il quarto mercato per le presenze straniere in Austria. Anche i risultati del 2015 finora (da gennaio a marzo) disponibili, con un incremento del 4%, permettono ai responsabili del turismo nazionale di guardare al futuro con ottimismo. “Secondo il quotidiano economico e finanziario ‚Il Sole 24 Ore‘, l‘Austria è tornata a essere tra le Top 10 delle destinazioni turistiche preferite dagli italiani, precisamente è al 6° 1/<strong>2016</strong> 25
