Nomenclatural Overview of Lepiotaceous Fungi. Version 4.7 ~ Else C. Vellinga ~ 4 February 2009
Version 4.7 differs in small details from the earlier versions, with some
updated author names, some more web references, two new species, some
new combinations, some more Agaricus names and many miscellaneous
minutiae.
New formatting, and colour coding of the descriptions should make it
easier to use.
Version 4.6 sees two new Lepiota species from a hothouse in Germany
included, species that also occur on the Hawai’ian islands. Species not
considered belonging to the Agaricaceae are now colour coded in blue,
those accommodated in the Amanitaceae are in purple.
With version 4.5 began the addition, in many instalments, of Agaricus
species, starting with those described in the last 10 years. All species in the
Agaricus clade are indicated by {Agaricus} at the end of the entry.
Chamaemyces carmelensis is a new species from Israel.
Version 4.4 started off with the new variety Lepiota oregonensis var.
macrospora. Smithiogaster volvoagaricus and Attamyces bromatificus have also
been added. Descriptions of species described by Murrill and Burlingham
have been incorporated.
Version 4.3 contained eight more names than version 4.2:
Lepiota decipiens, Lepiota amianthina var. evae, Lepiota nainitala, Lepiota
mastoidea var. pobudae, Lepiota polinea, Lepiota sulphurea, Lepiota procera
var. umbrosa, and Allopsalliota geesterani.
Links to free on-line sources for literature were given, see page 3-4.
New for version 4.0 was the list of references for the type studies and other
commentary cited within the square brackets, see pages 112-114.
Also new for version 4.0 was the list of species which have a full description
in the text, see page 5.
The purpose of this list is to collect all names that have been published at the species level and
below in the white- and green-spored genera of the Agaricaceae and to provide them with
literature references. The ultimate goal is to include all members of the Agaricaceae.
The list contains over 1500 names and the genera covered include Allopsalliota, Chamaemyces,
Chlorophyllum, Clarkeinda, Cystolepiota, Endoptychum, Echinoderma,Heinemannomcyes,
