Ed è da qui che puòpartire la visita della città.È opportuno andarci conuna guida, perché il rischiodi perdersi tra i minuscolie tortuosi vicoli è elevato. Irecenti restauri hanno rimessoa posto più di un edificio,e la visita garantisce l’immersionein un’autenticamedina del Nord Africa. Lemoschee di Ketchaoua e diAli Khodja, i palazzi DarAziza e Dar Hassan Pacha,tetti di lamiera e portali dilegno intarsiato, le donne inabiti tradizionali, le mercidel suk (mercato), i ‘bonjour’e i ‘bienvenue’ dei negozianti…Splendide iconedell’immaginario occidentaledi una città araba. MaAlgeri ha molte altre meteda offrire: una passeggiatain città regala storia, arte,parchi e giardini, architetturemoresche e liberty, eil frizzante ‘disordine’ dinegozi e mercati. Senzadimenticare la luce vivida eforte che la inonda, regalandolel’appellativo di ‘Cittàbianca’.
